DEMOCRATIC SPACE
Like our civil liberties, our public spaces should be vigilantly protected, nurtured, and remain accessible to all. As architects, we feel particularly committed to designing projects for civic and non-profit organizations. Innovative, shared spaces, from rooftop classrooms to native gardens irrigated by reclaimed water, can strengthen a neighborhood and inspire learning.

SUSTAINABLE DESIGN
Our care for the community also extends to concern for the environment. We are strong proponents of sustainable design strategies, viewing them as an obligation rather than a choice. We encourage every individual to become more aware of the value of public space and become more committed to protecting our natural resources.

PROJECTS
Our community projects include The Accelerated School, a pre-K through 12 educational campus; Mark Taper/Inner City Arts, a non-profit art school; and LAX First Flight, an airport childcare center. The Tree People’s Center for Community Forestry achieved LEED Platinum certification in 2008, and the Glendale Childcare Center achieved LEED Gold certification in 2010.
