In May 2011, we were one of 19 artists invited to participate in the UCLA Hammer Museum’s Kids’ Art Museum Project. K.A.M.P. is an event imagined by artists for kids. We created a system of blocks and connectors and encouraged kids and their parents to “Think Inside the Blocks.” The massive collaborative sculpture grew, fell, and morphed over the course of the day on a custom 18-foot walnut table. The table’s slots provided a foundation for the kids to build with thousands of blocks produced in our wood shop. The table was adapted for installation in the lobby of the Hammer Museum, where the public continues to play with the blocks.
